House of Prayer Ministries – Our Story
House of Prayer Ministries was birthed in prayer in the home of our Pastor and Wife, hence our name House of Prayer. The house was purchased in mid-summer of 2015, and as friends and family began to visit, unplanned prayer meetings began to occur, resulting in healings and deliverance, and much encouragement to those present. Our Pastor and Wife hosted a housewarming party at the end of October, and the house was officially dedicated to the Lord. Pastor Michael had asked God that the house would be a place where people would come and find the presence of the Lord, the love of God, and where prayer would be made and people would be blessed. He prayed this not realizing that a few months later, the house would become a sanctuary. January 3, 2016, was our first official service as a Church.
We are a multi-ethnic body of believers who honor God as our Father, acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and embrace the Holy Spirit as our Comforter and the Spirit of God in our lives. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God. We assemble twice a week to praise God, to pray together, to preach and teach the Scriptures, and to testify of what God has done in our lives.
The New Testament Church continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers (Acts 2:42). To this end, House of Prayer Ministries is committed to:
The weekly preaching, teaching, and study of the Bible. We believe that God speaks to us through His Word, that He has answers for us, so we seek to know what his Word says so that we can apply it to our lives!
We are committed to weekly fellowship with each other! We are a spiritual family, and, as such, we minister to each other, we care for each other, and we keep each other encouraged. Everything we do in House of Prayer is for the building of positive, loving relationships as brothers and sisters in Christ! The Church is about God and the people, so our relationships with Him and with each other are always a priority.
We are committed to breaking bread together, so we frequently share a meal or celebrate special occasions in the lives of our members. This is time for us not only to eat, but to get to know each other better and deepen our friendships. And on the First Sunday of every month, we break bread together when we remember the broken Body and the shed Blood of Jesus in Holy Communion.
And House of Prayer, as our name proclaims, is committed to prayer. This ministry was birthed in prayer, has been sustained in prayer, and will continue in prayer. We believe that we should pray without ceasing – that men should always pray and not faint – and that God hears us and answers us when we pray in Jesus’ Name! And so we pray together at all of our services and gatherings, and we keep each other in prayer in-between times. And we pray not only for ourselves, but for our families, for the Church everywhere, for our community, for our nation, and for our world.
And House of Prayer Ministries does not exist just for the members. Our hearts, and our Church, are open to whosoever will come….. Christians who are members of other houses who come to visit, Christians who are looking for a church home, those we invite to come worship and fellowship with us – whether they be friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers – those who may not know God yet but are seeking Him . . . . . our Church is a House of Prayer for all people !!!
House of Prayer believes that, as Christians, we are called to be witnesses and ambassadors for Christ in this world, and we seek to do that with our lives, our words, and our actions. We are not just the Church to each other, but we seek to be a church in the community. So we are building bridges and partnering with whoever we can to make a positive difference wherever we can – to the Seniors in Seaside, to the sick and shut-in, to the homeless, to individuals and families in need, and to the youth! Wherever God sends us, and whatever doors He opens for us, we want to make a difference for Him in the lives of others!!!
This is Our Story. Thank you for being a part of it, and thank you for letting us share it with you !!!!
